"Sweet Dreams, Lincoln"
A friend and biographer of Lincoln, Ward Hill Lamon, said that Lincoln told him that he had had a dream about "the President", dead, ten days before he was killed.
Lincoln had been very tired that night from waiting for important dispatches and had fallen asleep quickly.
He dreamed that he first heard people sobbing. "Who could be crying?", was something he probably thought as he heard the noise in the distance.
As he walked downstairs to find the source of the misery, he just couldn't seem to find it as he checked all rooms for something that could be making the sound.
Finally, after much searching, however, he did as he walked into the East Room.
There he found a crowd of people filled with grief as they huddled around a corpse wearing vestments, whose face was covered.
Lincoln looked around for someone to fill him on what was going on and asked a soldier who had been acting as a gaurd around the body.
"Who is dead in the White House?" he exclaimed, full of concern.
"The president was killed by an assassin," the soldier replied as he went back to the duty of providing security.
This answer was probably extremely shocking to Lincoln but he had no time to react because right them the crowd let out a loud sound of grief.
He woke up, not sleeping for the rest of the night, annoyed by the dream all the way up until his death.
Could this dream have been a future sign to the upcoming fate of famous president Abraham Lincoln?
We may never know but this dream was a major coincidence to how Lincoln was going to die.
